Compassion is such an important part of being fully present to all aspects of your being. So I am posting this wonderful, although a little “heady” talk by an expert in the field of mind-body psychology and neuroscience. Stephen Porges speaks about how compassion is only a characteristic of higher order beings, mammals. He also explains why we can’t be compassionate when we are feeling defensive and resonating with our fears.
